Women of Wisdom
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
In 2003, a luncheon was held honoring a special group of ladies at Crossroads, our widows. From that initial luncheon a ministry known as W.O.W. (Women of Wisdom) was launched. Today W.O.W. ministers to over 60 Crossroads widows, as well as Crossroads single women over 55 years of age. Our goal in W.O.W. is to minister to the needs of these women.
Friendships and fellowship are two important needs as women find themselves in this stage of life. W.O.W. helps meet both of these needs through a variety of monthly and quarterly activities. These planned activities give W.O.W. ladies multiple opportunities to get together throughout the year. Regardless of what the activity might be, women simply enjoy being with other women. Our ladies have fun together, laugh and cry together, share needs, and pray together...and along the way develop meaningful and supportive friendships!

What Others Are Saying About W.O.W.
W.O.W. is a great group of ladies that enjoy visiting with each other, going out to eat, traveling to different sights of interest and always being there for you when you need a hug, laugh, and a prayer. ~ Berdyne
I always look forward to the W.O.W. get-togethers. For me, it is all about friendship-a chance to get together with friends you know and a chance to make new friends-all while being entertained and enjoying a good meal. Makes me smile just thinking about it. ~ Joan
I enjoy W.O.W. so much because of the dear ladies I have met and developed friendships with over the years. We always have an interesting program and we also look forward to the outings we have. Of course, I must mention the delicious food that the W.O.W. team plans, prepares and serves us at our Quarterlies...can't beat it anywhere! ~ Mary
As a widow and new to the area W.O.W. has come to mean a lot to me. It has provided an opportunity to make new friends, while sharing good food, fellowship, and spiritual growth through their programs and inspirational speakers. My thanks to all who put their time and energy into making W.O.W. a success. ~ Susie
W.O.W is a wonderful ministry, one that has given me an opportunity to meet and have fellowship with a lot of lovely ladies. It fills a void in my life since I have no family in the area. I encourage single women (55+) and widows to come join us in W.O.W. ~ Brenda
