NUMBERS
Learning Contentment in a Culture of More

Dates: September 11 – October 23 (7 weeks)
Time: 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Book Cost: $17
Author: Melissa Spoelstra
Leader: Ruth Ann Mitchell

Something in us aches for more – more hope, more joy, more freedom, more of EVERY good thing!  So, all around us, people are dancing to the steps of bigger, better and faster, and we can easily join in without even realizing it.  Then, before long, we’re complaining and comparing because we still aren’t any closer to filling the ache inside.

In this study, we’ll look at a group of people who wandered in the desert for forty years unable to enter the Promised Land, a story that the New Testament tells us is to serve as a warning to us!  Through that story we’ll identify the reasons for our complaining and what it takes to learn contentment … a contentment that can only come when we truly understand that Our God is more than enough!

What is robbing you of a deeper, more meaningful relationship with Jesus?  It just could be the idols in your life!  Idols that may be more subtle than statues of gold, but yet strike at the very heart of your intimacy with God!  Maybe it’s striving to have a Facebook- or Instagram-worthy home and life, but it could even be a loved one or ministry!  In fact, anything or anyone that you prioritize above God and the space and time meant for Him alone has become an idol!

Join us for this study where we’ll learn to identify the functional gods we’re serving and the lies they tell, as well as what to do once we identify them!

SHEPHERDING A CHILD’S HEART
(This study is offered specifically for moms of kids birth through PreK)

Dates: September 12 – November 28 (6 sessions - every other week, alternating with Moms of Preschoolers)
Time: 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Book Cost: No Cost
Author: Tedd Tripp
Leader: Merideth Chambers

The things your child does and says flow from the heart.  Luke 6:45 puts it this way:  “… out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.”  So, how can a mom speak the things of Christ to the very heart of her child?

Most books on parenting give you advice either on how to shape and constrain your children’s behavior or on how to make them feel good about themselves.  But, this book contains something different.  It teaches you how to engage children about what really matters and how to address your child’s heart by your words and actions. You will be blessed as you join other moms of preschoolers and discover what it means to follow God’s instructions and shepherd your child’s heart!
